Björn Baumgartner, born on 5.9.1978 in Zurich begins at the age of 5 years, his music career playing the violin. At 12, he starts out of passion for the bass to learn this instrument. After leaving school, he decides at the Swiss Jazz School in Berne to study. His studies, the main tool for Peter Frei, Thomas Thiry, Bänz Oester and Bela Szedlak (classical), closes it off with a teaching degree with a major performance in October 2004.
